La FA Cup (Football Association Challenge Cup), o la Copa de Inglaterra es una competición anual de fútbol de Inglaterra, en la que participan actualmente más de 600 equipos.
Historia[]
La primera vez que se disputó la FA Cup fue en 1871. Es la competición futbolística más antigua del mundo.
Desde 1916 hasta 1919 la competición se suspende a causa de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Entre 1940 y 1945 la Segunda Guerra Mundial obliga a suspender la competición de nuevo.
Sistema de competición[]
El sistema de competición es similar al de la Copa del Rey en España. Los equipos se enfrentan entre ellos en eliminatorias. El ganador pasa a la siguiente ronda. El campeón de la Copa de Inglaterra consigue un puesto en la siguiente edición de la Copa de la UEFA.
